Home Inspection

Home Inspection – Process

You have found the home you have been searching for and wisely want to have a home inspection. Here is a brief overview of how the inspection process works.

Home Inspection by DC Inspections Inc

Home Inspection Company or Home Inspector Selection

Talk with several potential home inspection companies to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied with the certifications, background and experience of the staff, the level of service and the type and quality of reports the company is licensed to provide, and of course the associated costs. If cost is a major concern ask us about our programs to help reduce inspection expenses.

Home Inspection – Conducting the Inspection

We say home inspections because most homes are purchased involving a lender which will require a Wood destroying Organisms, WDO (Termite) Inspection report. Most homes have insurance protection and to save money on premiums a Wind or (Universal Mitigation Verification Inspection) UMVI inspection report is needed. More information with regard to these inspections can be found in the Insurance and Termite inspection sections of our web site. The home inspection process typically takes about one hour per 1,000 square feet under roof. Every component is visually evaluated and reported on. Homes built between 2001 and 2004 are routinely inspected for Chinese Drywall as the beginning of the inspection. The home inspections will be conducted by a well trained experienced professional or professionals.
